Whats new ?? Karaoke !

Our Microsoft project group has a whole week off (which basically means holidays from Dec 23 to Jan 2nd ) !! This was given on behalf of one of the internal deadlines we successfully completed on Dec 15 ... So, apart from XBOX, another thing thats keeping me busy these days is 'Karaoke' !!

I have always been interested in music and singing .. its always been one of my passions .. I havent given as much attention to it as much I would have liked in the past ... but in these 2 weeks, I came across www.taranaa.com and since then I have just been trying out a number of the karaoke tracks up there ...

Its a wonderful site ! There are a number of sites available for Hindi Karaoke but this is the only one which has a community and a forum where people exchange their thoughts and they make suggestions and help each other improve ... There is a strong interaction between each other and thats what's really good about it ! If you have had any khwahish, of giving your voice a try, this is the site to go for !!

Here is what I have recorded so far :

As always, comments are more than welcome !

You might like my site too. YouTube Karaoke, despite being fairly new, is attracting quite a following of karaoke lovers. Not quite Hindi music, but we have so good stuff nevertheless.

i wrote a hugee comment.. n it got deleted:(

i heard all ur songs, and i think u r pretty good for an amateur. but here are a few things i noticed..

Jaane kyun: this one with bharati, she kept cutting you. I counted twice. her modulations are good, but her voice is high pitched. Anyhow, for you, i think you were rushing ur "Jaane"s else it was good.
Chale Jaise: dint open :(
Piyu Bole: you sounded much more relaxed and at ease whn you were saying the words, as in the dialogues. But I liked the way you took the paragraphs. You sounded like a natural, but the first few lines dint sit well..
Jaane kyun: Man, you were awesome. when this was playing my brother was sitting next to me, and he thought it was the original sound track. Again the "jaane"s were rushed but apart frm tht..you were real good. Wish i could save this one. you were real good man..
Jise dhoondhta: hmm again, t some places it sounded like ur voice dint suit the song. But else you were fine. It was a smooth song.
Chaand Sifarish: the beginnging was awesome. but the Subhaanallah sounded like it came frm far off. At some places ur voice lifted the song, and at some it dint. but the beginning stayed with me till the end. It was good.

I am not any big time singing expert, but whtever i know is coz of a frnd who is an expert. I think you are good yaar. and its soo cool that you have found such a great hobby, keep making more music. Its real nice. and if u can tell me how i can save your songs, if you dont mind tht is. :)

wow ! nice to see such a constructive and detailed comment ! I dont know why Chale Jaise Hawayein dint open :( .. it opens fine for me ...anyway was very happy to know that you liked the songs overall .. will keep in mind the things to do you told me .. will try to improve on those ...

I am more than happy to tell you that you can save songs. In stead of left clicking on the songs to play them, right click and select 'save target as' - that will save the mp3 on your pc .. thanks a lot ..

Not bad, dude..I heard you once before on our way back from pullman...thought you had a good voice...just confirmed it after I listened to "ALL" your songs...

I do have some suggestions for you though..
-just like the way you drop catches (had to say this)...you get lazy while singing too. And, when you do that, you rush into the next sentence of the song like a ripple effect. Otherwise, you were pretty good. Try challenging yourself with some songs at a higher range like Chaiyya Chaiyya..

Keep on rocking!

firstly about cricket - I DONT DROP CATCHES !! I dropped just one catch in the whole season out of 100s that flew towards me and I held on to .. :)

now thats aside, Thanks a lot for your constructive comment on songs ... I tend to do that .. I sometimes sing ahead of the song .. I think thats because I get too much into the grove .. I will try to improve for sure ..keep those suggestion coming .. they will certainly help me improve ... am leaving for India tomorrow for a month .. will try some high pitch songs after that - one of them I have tried is Chale Jaise Hawayein sung by KK originally .. will certainly try Chhaiya Chhaiya as well ..

thanks again & Happy new year !!
